Nominated charity: Auchtermuchty Community Centre 60%.
Description: A wide variety of gardens, many hidden and behind walls. The diversity of gardens makes this village well worth a visit. One garden has a forest orchard set in woodland with many mature trees and an emphasis on encouraging into the garden wildlife in all its forms. Another garden - started in 2012 but already looking well established - contains a range of plants, trees, shrubs, roses and an amazing border of meconopsis. Other gardens show an extensive range of formal herbaceous and informal borders, shrubs and trees - including a fine old specimen Redwood. As well as the gardens in Auchtermuchty, Pitlochie House (Gateside) and one garden in Dunshalt are part of the weekend’s event.

Directions: On the A91 from Cupar and Kinross. B936 from Falkland and Newburgh. Stagecoach buses 36 or 94A. Moffat & Williamson buses 64, 64A and 66.

Other details: Tickets with maps will be available in Auchtermuchty at the Church Hall, Croft KY14 7AS and other gardens in the village, as well as at Pitlochie House (Gateside) and Dunshalt 38 Main Street. Look out for the yellow SGS signs and yellow balloons. Tickets are valid for the whole weekend. Plant sale at Harthill KY14 7HS. Teas at the Church Hall and Pitlochie House. Food at the Boar’s Head, Auchtermuchty. Please wear appropriate footwear, as some gardens have rough areas. Disabled access to some gardens may be limited. Dogs are not allowed.
