A series of arches at the heart of the walled garden smothered by rambling roses over a DNA pathway form the longest interrupted Rose Archway in Scotland. A formal pond, water feature, grass labyrinth, yew-backed herbaceous borders with wispy grasses and unusual perennials, potager filled with roses, cut flowers, soft fruits and herbs. Old espalier fruit trees trained against the walls, new orchard and Victorian glass house complete the walled garden. Alpine scree and gravel plantings, walk to covenanters’ tomb, short Bear Walk for little children, nine hole family putting. Heritage and Education Centre Exhibition.
