Balker Farmhouse was restored in 2002 and the garden, formerly a ploughed field, was started in 2003-4 by Davina, Dowager Countess of Stair and Annmaree Mitchell. It is now full of wonderful shrubs and plants for all seasons and is opened in memory of Davina, who died in 2017. 

Directions: One-and-a-half miles off the A75, three miles from Stranraer. Go through the farmyard to the blue gate.
