Historic Coldstream, Scotland's 'First True Border Town' is home of Coldstream's Guards, the country's second oldest infantry regiment. Cross the bridge over the River Tweed which forms a natural boundary between England and Scotland, pausing to admire the wonderful views along the river to the Cheviots and beyond. Coldstream, as the Borders Floral Gateway Awards best large village winner 2017, will have a great variety of gardens open for the garden enthusiast to explore. Wander around and chat to an exponent of permaculture, a giant vegetable grower and numerous other garden owners who will be delighted to share their gardening triumphs and interests with you.
Coldstream is on the A697 equidistant between Kelso and Berwick-on-Tweed. The Community Centre (an old church building) is in the west end of town. There is ample parking on the street and in nearby car parks.
