Over 200 gardens that open with Scotland's Gardens Scheme welcome dogs (on a lead please).

Visiting a garden with your four legged friend in tow is a great way to spend a day. You can enjoy discovering new plants and comparing composting techniques whilst your canine companion enjoys the finer things in life, like fresh air and new smells!

We've highlighted just a few gardens open for you and your dog (for a full list click here):

Craufordland Estate, Ayrshire

You will see that the woods around the Castle have wonderful examples of many different types of snowdrops. You can stroll through the woodland at leisure, on paths we have created - viewing the best Craufurdland snowdrops along the way.

Saturday 17 February, 12pm - 3pm
Admission £4.00, children free.

Clayfolds, Aberdeenshire

An informal country garden extending to a ½ acre, with a further six acres of wildflowers, native trees and a pond. The main garden is laid out with lawn and mixed borders which are filled with shrubs and a wide range of hardy perennials and includes a 'hot' border with various flaxes and a variety of hot coloured plants. Small cottage style garden to the front of the house. Follow the tracks through the recently developed six acre 'wilderness garden' and see what native fauna and flora you can spot.

Sunday 24 June, 12:30pm - 3:30pm
Admission £4.00, children free.

Middle Cairncake

A garden which appeals to the senses: roses selected for their scent, planting generally to please the eye. The kitchen garden with polytunnel creates self-sufficiency and the pond adds interest. Sustainability, wildlife and recycling are priorities. The garden has views over the surrounding countryside. A winter garden is our next project.
