A cul-de-sac with five suburban gardens of individual character in an area once known as 'Happy Valley'. All are very different and have been in development for up to forty years, often on steep contours. They take in a walkway around paths and steps caressed by spring bulbs and choice woodlands, a level garden with Mediterranean and southern hemisphere plants, a tranquil space in a loop of the road, steep terraces on whinstone boulders planted with alpines and a large garden with mature trees and rhododendrons bordering Easter Craiglockhart Hill - 'rus in urbe'.
Glenlockhart Valley is off the Colinton Road. Buses 27 and 10 stop at Craiglockhart Tennis Centre and it is a short walk up from there. Bus 4 if alighting from Napier University Campus. Buses 36, 45. By car: Please park on Colinton Road. By bicycle: Use NCR75 Route.
