2024 Conference at Carlowrie Castle
This year, our 2024 conference took place at the stunning Carlowrie Castle and we were delighted to welcome garden owners, volunteers, supporters and friends from all over Scotland. We had presentations from our Chairman, Dougal Philip and Chief Executive, Liz Stewart, celebrating the impact of funds raised by all of our garden openers and volunteers this season. We heard from our sponsor Rathbones and our core beneficiaries, QNIS, Perennial and Maggie’s and we welcomed our guest speakers, Gillian Scott who presented a talk on Isobel Wylie Hutchison and Jim Jermyn, who presented Branklyn garden - a celebration of 100 years.
We awarded this year’s Diana Macnab Award to Vicki Reid Thomas and celebrated 25 years of opening for Cloan garden.
We held three workshops for our delegates this year; Promoting Your Garden, Crowning Glory and Exploring Cashless Payments. Our many thanks to our workshop hosts: Ray Cox, Helen Cross, Lizzie Schofield (Promoting Your Garden), Bridget & Mike Bevan (Crowning Glory) and Joan Lind from Trybooking (Exploring Cashless Payments). Our thanks also to our Trustees and to David Mitchell for running our Future of the Yellow Book sessions.
Our sincere thanks to our conference sponsors:
