Garrioch Gardens was a fabulous success even although we started off with rain it did clear up later in the day. There was a lovely mix of blooms, roses, hydrangeas, sweet peas and tomatoes and much more. The different levels made it an interesting garden to walk round and there was a great range of generations enjoying the gardens. 

Ralph, a resident of 70 years, was happy to chat to visitors as he sharpened his tools, while in his shed. There was a lovely community atmosphere to welcome all visitors.

The Tea & Cake stall was as delicious as it was impressive! 

We were entertained by the gentle pounding of leaves and flowers to release the natural dye pigments creating an impression of the flowers and leaves onto fabric; the Japanese art of Hapazome. 

Also, staff and volunteers from Home-start, Glasgow North spoke about the work they do in assisting families and early years children in the community. 

Both Judi and Charlotte had done a magnificent job in promoting the open day through local clubs and venues and their many connections. 

Visitors were left inspired by the achievements and transformation of the tenement back court gardens - many commented on how truly inspiring it was!

Congratulations to Judi & Charlotte for pursuing their vision with determination and hard graft.
