This year, the Garden Owners of Dalswinton Mill have arranged something rather special for their garden open day on Sunday 10 August.

As well as the opportunity to explore this wonderful, evolving garden with the Pennyland stream running right through the centre, owners Colin and Pamela Crosbie have also organised a mini plant fair with some wonderful specialist nurseries, so visitors can come and find some plant treasures to take home.  Not only that, there will be music through the afternoon by the Loch Arthur Band and lovely home-made cakes and refreshments.

There will also be horticultural demonstrations and talks through the afternoon, some by Colin Crosbie, a horticultural expert in his own right as a former gardener to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, Curator at RHS Garden Wisley, Scotland’s Gardens Scheme Trustee and, most recently Colin and the garden has appeared on Beechgrove.

The open day will be raising funds for a great cause, the nearby Loch Arthur Community charity, which supports and empowers adults with learning disabilities by helping them to learn practical skills through growing and making produce at their farm, and living within a supportive family community.

As well as the nurseries, The Scottish Rock Garden Club will have a stall. Several of their members will be giving demonstrations on how to plant troughs and small containers.

It really promises to be a wonderful day so please do come and enjoy the garden, pick up some top tips and some special plants to take home - and help to raise funds for charity!

Joining us at Dalswinton Mill will be the following nurseries:
