New gardens opening in September

City centre private garden of seven acres beside the historic Dean Bridge. Shrubs, trees, herbaceous and mixed borders provide a haven of peace close to the city, with wild areas and magnificent views of the Dean Bridge, over the Water of Leith.

12 Chatelherault Avenue The front garden of no. 12 is split into a gravel garden and a small white woodland garden. Go through the gate and you will find a garden the aim of which is to grow as many different edibles as possible, herbs, fruit arches, vegetable beds and edible hedging. There are herbaceous perennials and a cut flower bed, a wildlife pond, a pizza oven and around the corner a food smoker.

14 Chatelherault Avenue An established garden that has been revived since the owners arrived three years ago. As the overgrowth was removed more and more beautiful surprises emerged. The garden is now a lovely calm sanctuary, artistically planted with a wide range of herbaceous perennials surrounded by beautiful trees.

Logie House

Originally a formal garden with a large area of vegetable production, Logie House garden has been developed since 1991 with emphasis on trees, shrubs and hardy perennials, giving all year round interest. The meandering burn and dry stone walls support the creation of a wide variety of planting habitats from dry sunny banks to damp shady areas. Many of the unusual plants are propagated for sale in the Garden Shop at Logie Steading. Also features forest and river walks.
