Sunflower Dreams

2 Househill Drive, Nairn IV12 5RX
Heather Lansdell
Current Openings:
Description: This cottage-style, wildlife-friendly garden is filled with character, featuring several murals, repurposed items, upcycled furniture, whisky barrels, archways, and many different cosy seating areas. The front of the property contains many beds and borders filled with rhododendrons and perennials, all hemmed in by a white picket fence. Wildlife is welcome in our garden, with pollinator-friendly planting, many tall grass areas, miniature wildflower meadows, a pond and a hedgehog habitat. In mid to late summer, expect to see sunflowers planted throughout the garden, as well as dahlias, helichrysum, nicotiana and bedding plants all grown from seed in our greenhouse. This is definitely a three-season garden, full of surprises, and providing large amounts of interest on all but the coldest winter months.

Directions: From Inverness or Nairn, take the A96 through Nairn towards Forres. Go over the river and under the railway bridge. At the lights turn right onto the A939 to Grantown. After ½ mile there is a sharp 90-degree bend to the left. Take the first right after this bend into Househill Drive. Sunflower Dreams is on your right with a white picket fence. From Forres turn left onto the Grantown A939 road at the lights after Sainsburys. There is limited parking in Househill Drive. You can also park along the lane leading to Househill Meadows and Househill Gate and on the street in Househill Meadows. There is a bus stop beyond the A939 turning at Sainsburys and it is about a one mile walk from there.
