The Carriage House

Blair Estate, Dalry KA24 4ER
Mr and Mrs Luke Borwick
T:01294 832816
The Stables were built (c1800) on a rocky outcrop with little soil depth. In 2001, The Carriage House was created from old stables, cowshed and dairy. The Garden has evolved over the past fifteen years and has been designed by the owners to provide colour and interest all year round, many plants provided by friends and family. Divided into many different ‘rooms’, some contain sculptures by artists including Lucy Poett, Lucy Fisher and Mary Stormonth Darling. Ironwork by Kev Paxton. Small copses have been formed in the adjoining ten-acre field, containing many interesting trees and shrubs. Paths are designed to take you round the field to discover items of interest, such as the mermaids rescuing a girl, some unusual trees such as a variegated tulip tree, a golden dawn redwood and a wellingtonia grown from seed here at Blair.
