These adjacent gardens are each about half-an-acre and sit behind Arts and Crafts era houses. They are south facing with views to the River Tay and Fife hills. Both are well established and have many mature plants and trees.
Westgate
12 Glamis Drive, Dundee DD2 1QL (John and Frances Dent): This garden has a tennis court lawn surrounded by herbaceous plants and shrubs. A short woodland walk reveals a miniature knot garden, a bower and other surprise features. There are also two oriental-themed water gardens, rose beds and a newly planted chamomile lawn.
Windyridge
10 Glamis Drive DD2 1QL (Frances M. Shepherd): The garden, set out in the 1920s, comprises different areas: a terrace at the top looks over a central lawn with a sundial in the middle and wide herbaceous borders on each side. An arbour divides this area from the orchard containing several old and some new fruit trees. Passing under the covered beech hedge at the bottom takes one into the vegetable area.
